Panasonic Toyota Racing today completed their three-day test in Italy, where the team's Brazilian third driver Ricardo Zonta lapped the 4.931km Imola track 68 times. Ricardo managed to complete the technical programme, carried out by Cristiano da Matta over the last two days.
Best lap time: 1m23.678, 68 laps completed
Working on: Mechanical and aerodynamic set-up, engine mapping, tyre testing
"Today was my first visit to Imola with the team and it is always positive to experience different circuits in testing. We had a productive day and I carried on with Cristiano's programme. We were using the interim car, but gathered lots of useful data to prepare for the San Marino race, especially regarding set-up options. I could already feel some improvement in the car behaviour between this morning and the end of the session. I am feeling more and more acquainted to the team and I look forward to accompanying them to the Australian Grand Prix next week."
Weather: Dry and sunny. Air temperature 09-18°C.
Track: Dry all day. Track temperature 12-22°C.
Panasonic Toyota Racing will conclude their pre-season testing programme tomorrow at the Circuit de Jerez, where Cristiano will take over from Olivier Panis at the wheel of the team's TF103.
