Barcelona Test Round-Up

Motorsport
After three days in Valencia, the Panasonic Toyota Racing team today concluded a two-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. Ricardo Zonta was the sole man on track during the short, but productive session, taking to the wheel of the TF103 to conduct a special wet weather tyre test together with the team's technical partner Michelin. Although no lap times were recorded, Zonta totalled 183 laps of the circuit to take the team's weekly tally from Valencia and Barcelona to 645, or 2,713 kilometres with three cars.

Dates: 29-30 January 2004
Location: Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona
Drivers: Ricardo Zonta (29-30)
Track Length: 4.728km
Total laps: 183 (82 on Thursday, 101 on Friday)
Chassis: TF103/08
Working on: Wet weather tyre testing for Michelin
Weather: Sunny with some cloud, track made artificially wet for testing purposes

Ricardo Zonta
"After a busy two days in Valencia, it was nice to be alone on the track for our special two-day Michelin test in Barcelona. The track was made wet expressly for our wet weather tyre testing and all in all we found some very encouraging results, particularly for our future tyre tests. Olivier and Cristiano are going to take over full testing duties in Barcelona next week for a four-day test, our first with two new TF104 race cars."
