Panasonic Toyota Racing: Barcelona and Jerez Test

Barcelona Test 16-17 September / Day 1, Jerez Test 16-19 September / Day 1

Putting the disappointment of the Italian Grand Prix behind them, the Panasonic Toyota Racing team has begun the penultimate week of this season's testing in Spain today.

Cristiano da Matta commenced a two-day session at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, whilst third driver Ricardo Zonta has been testing in Jerez for the first of four days at the 4.428km track.

Olivier Panis, meanwhile, will conduct a sole test day at Circuit Paul Ricard to conclude a busy week of testing on Friday.

"For the first of my two days in Barcelona this week, we completed a massive number of laps with no real problems. As usual with testing, we are putting all of our efforts into preparing ourselves as well as possible for the upcoming races. I have never driven at either Indianapolis or Suzuka and they are the final races of the season, so our testing work this week will be very important."
