Barcelona Test 08-11 July 2003 - Day 3

Motorsport
Panasonic Toyota Racing continued its four-day test session in Spain today where Olivier Panis took over teammate Cristiano da Matta and completed 83 laps of the 4.730km Barcelona track. The test was divided up between tyre comparisons in the morning and evaluation of an upgraded aerodynamic package this afternoon.

Olivier Panis - Car No. 20
Chassis: TF103/03
Best lap time: 1m18.64, 83 laps completed
Working on: Tyre evaluations, aerodynamic elements test and set-up checks

"Today was very productive for me and for the team, and it was better for everybody to work in good weather conditions after yesterday. We spent quite some time this morning completing series of short runs to compare the different Michelin tyres from which we have to choose for the next races. This afternoon, we worked, still together with Michelin, on the entire package and tested new aerodynamic kits as well as some engine upgrades. I had a good initial feeling of these new elements, which I look forward to confirm tomorrow. We will continue with a similar programme, as we hope to introduce these improvements in the race as soon as possible."

Weather: Hot and sunny all day. Air temperature: 26-34°C.
Track: Dry at all times. Track temperature: 28-44°C.

Olivier will complete Panasonic Toyota Racing's last day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya tomorrow.
