Panasonic Toyota Racing: Jerez Test - Day 2

Jerez Test 26-28 February 2003 - Day 2

Motorsport
For the second day of testing at the Circuit de Jerez, the Panasonic Toyota Racing team finally enjoyed some good weather conditions that allowed them to catch up with some of the technical programme hampered by the rain yesterday. On his final day of pre-season testing, Olivier Panis was fastest of the five drivers present at the Spanish track with a time of 1m19.080s, but the Frenchman remains realistic ahead of the first race of the season in Australia next week.

Olivier Panis - Car No. 20
Chassis: TF103/01
Best lap time: 1m19.080, 55 laps completed
Working on: General car set-up and tyres

"This was a much more rewarding day for myself and the team, as we finally managed some good running in dry conditions. The car has again proved to be quick and I certainly felt that today. We now have a good basis but we still have a way to go and have to keep our feet on the ground. I want to say thanks to everyone in the team for the very hard work done during pre-season testing. Because of their great effort, I have gained a lot of experience in the new car and I feel upbeat ahead of the first race in Melbourne next week."

Weather: Overcast most of the day with sunny spells.

Track: Still some damp spots in the morning, dry in the afternoon.
