Motorsport
Panasonic Toyota Racing continued its two-pronged Spanish test today. Brazilian drivers Cristiano da Matta and Ricardo Zonta ran the TF103 through its paces at the Circuit de Catalunya and the Circuito de Jerez respectively, completing in excess of 200 laps between them.

Barcelona Test – Day 2

Cristiano da Matta
Chassis: TF103/06
Best lap time: 1m17.358s, 105 laps completed
Working on: Tyre testing and evaluation of new specification engine

"Today has been my last day of testing this week, and we completed a massive amount of work during the session. We did some long runs working on Michelin tyre tests for the next races, but we also validated a new specification engine that we will use at the Japanese Grand Prix. Overall, it was a very successful day. Now I fly back to Brazil for a couple of days before going to Indianapolis next week for the US Grand Prix, which will actually be my first ever race at the speedway, so I'm looking forward to that."

Weather: Bright and sunny. Maximum air temperature: 29°C.
Track: Dry at all times. Maximum track temperature: 38°C.

Jerez Test – Day 2

Ricardo Zonta
Chassis: TF103/03
Best lap time: 1m20.298s, 93 laps completed
Working on: Set-up and long-term development work

"It has been another quite good day with a lot of laps completed. We have continued our long-term development programme from yesterday and have again worked on the car's set-up and behaviour at this track, which bears some resemblance to parts of the Indianapolis F1 circuit configuration. I hope we continue in this productive direction for the last two days of this week's session."

Weather: Bright and sunny, getting windy during the day. Max air temperature: 31°C.
Track: Dry at all times. Max track temperature: 46°C.
